The 64 bit computer has been made available to the market sooner than the programs that will work on it. If you operate such a device, you may have experienced problems finding software. ITunes is one instance where people have experienced such problems.

ITunes has made available a “64 bit installer” that must be downloaded, in addition to the iTunes software itself, before you download stuff for your 64 bit machine. (See the link following this article.)

Note: Not all windows 64 bit operating systems are supported by iTunes. You must have Windows Vista, 64-bit or Windows 7, 64-bit. The 64-bit edition of Windows XP is not supported by iTunes.

It’s a much simpler and faster was to install windows and is especially useful in the event that you do not have a CD/DVD drive available for installation. Steps: 1.) Download and Install the Windows 7 USB download tool which you can find here. 2.)
